AGREEMENT UNDER THE PROGRAMME OF THE UNITED NATIONS HIGH COMMISSIONER FOR REFUGEES Carimbo do mesmo. Agency The Mozambique Institue Dar es Salaam ED/TAN.27/67 (b) Extension of buildings WHEREAS the Mozambique Institut at Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (hereinafter referred to as “the Institute”) has appealed through the United Nations High Commissioner for the Refugees (hereinafter referred to as “the High Commissioner”) for assistance for an extension of the existing buildings of the Institute in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, in according with architectural drawings submitted to the Government of Denmark; AND WHEREAS the High Commissioner has received a special contribution from the Government of Denmark in an amount of £22,250. - for the extension of the existing facilities of the Institute under conditions which have been taken into account below, THE PARTIES TO THIS AGREEMENT (indistinct) AGREE AS FOLLOWS: 1. The contribution will be applied only for the financing of the building programme of the Institute in accordance with the plans submitted. 2. The institute shell confirm receipt of and render accounts for all monies received from the High Commissioner and disbursed in respect of his project and submit concise financial and narrative statements, describing how each instalment is being utilized. An interim financial statement showing the position as at 31 December 1967 will be submitted no later than 31 January 1968. 3. Within two months following the completion of the building programme the Institute will submit a detailed final financial statement showing the use made of all contributions received and applied towards this project. 4. The institute will ensure that the accounts covering the entire building programme will be certified by a responsible auditor. 5. The Institute agrees that the High Commissioner, his representative and any person authorized by the Danish Ministry of Affairs will have unrestricted access to the building site whenever they express the wish to visit it and will be provided with such documents, evidence or information as may be required. 6. No part of the Institute’s administrative expenditure shall be charged to the High Commissioner’s contribution. 7. Any funds not utilized for the purpose of this agreement of remaining unspent on completion of the extension of the buildings shall revert to the High Commissioner, within one month after the preservation of the final statement. 8. Upon return of this agreement duly signed, the High Commissioner will transfer by cable a first instalment of £10,000.- to the bank account to be designated by the Mozambique Institute. In addition, further instalment up to £12,250.- will be transferred according to needs and upon receipt of the statements in accordance with paragraph 3 above. 9. The Institute agrees to and will facilitate the audit of the project on behalf of the United Nations. Should they at any time wish to do so, The United Nations Board of Auditors may carry out an audit of the project. The institute further agrees that separate accounts will be maintained for the project and that financial records and supporting vouchers will be readily accessible. 10. Neither the Government of Denmark or the High Commissioner will accept liability for compensation for death, disability, or other hazards which may be suffered by personnel as a result of their employment on work under this project. 11. This agreement shall come into force upon signature and shall remain in force unless modified or terminated between the parties to this agreement in writing.
