WAR COMMUNIQUE
The guerrilla fighters of M.P.L.A. are rigorously fulfilling their determined course to harass continually the colonialist enemy. At the same time, fulfilling another part of M.P.L.A´S programme, the political activists are ceaselessly spreading the organisation to all corners of the country.
The colonialist military authorities, becoming desperate in this situation, are using all means to try to regain control of the Angolan population. In the regions where the armed struggle is in progress the Portuguese are distributing and dropping paers by plane trying to persuade the people to leave the bush and the guerrilla and return to villages under Portuguese control.
The determination of the Angolan people, however, is unalterable; and the struggle continues.
On August 4th, in the morning, a big unit of Portuguese soldiers, conducted by three local guides, was intercepted by a detachment of M.P.L.A. forces near Lindando village, Lumbala post.
Opening a concentrated fire with their machine-guns and hand grenades, the M.P.L.A. guerrillas dominated the situation, killing 35 of the enemy. The three African guides, traitors to their people, where killed.
The M.P.L.A. fighters were able to return to their bases without any losses.
